Sunce Vineyard & Winery Pictures - Sonoma County Wineries
Sunce Vineyard & Winery
Sunce Vineyard & Winery is a small Russian River Valley winery that makes just 5,000 cases of wine annually, sold only at the winery. For a winery this small the sheer breadth of varietalsĀ at SunceĀ is amazing - find all your favorites, from Riesling to Pinot Noir, a Super Tuscan blend and three dessert wines. Sunce Vineyard & Winery is conveniently located just west of Santa Rosa, on the same strip as Pellegrini, Hook and Ladder , Harvest Moon, and DeLoach.
Notables: Croatian born proprietor/winemaker Frane Franicevic is a fourth generation winemaker, and shows his love for making wine in the sheer number of varietals he produces at Sunce winery. The style at Sunce Vineyards & Winery also leans towards Old World, with the fruit more in balance with oak and acid. It's striking how many of these reds are ageworthy, including the Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Meritage, Nebbiolo and the Super Tuscan Red. Your sweet tooth will appreciate the late harvest Sauvignon Blanc, late harvest Zinfandel and Barbera (fortified with grappa).
