St. Francis Winery and Vineyards is a large producer specializing in Chardonnay, Zinfandel and Bordeaux varietals. Stunning location in Sonoma Valley, with Hood Mountain as a backdrop. The original winery was located at what is now Blackstone, and St. Francis moved into this new winemaking facility in 1999 and opened their new visitor's center in 2001. Forty years ago, long before the world began to recognize that Sonoma County terroir was some of the finest in the world, St. Francis Winery made the commitment to craft wines exclusively from Sonoma. St. Francis owns over 600 Estate acres of prime vineyards in the Sonoma and Russian River Valleys. Under the direction of Winemaker Tom Mackey, each of these vineyards was planted row by row, block by block, with varietals that were particularly well suited to the particular terroir of each site. St. Francis now reaps the rewards of their pledge through the bounty of outstanding fruit used to create luscious, fruit forward wines from superior mountain and valley vineyards in Sonoma County’s best appellations.
