Wells Fargo Center for the Arts
The Wells Fargo Center for the Arts Santa Rosa is Sonoma Counties Premier Venue. Comprising of 3 theater spaces, conference facilities and huge indoor areas for trade shows, festivals and charity events.
The Person Theater at the Wells Fargo Center, is the main show stage. Seating 1540 people on 2 levels, with no bad seat in the house. I mean that, no seat is further away from the stage than 75ft.
Only when large touring rock groups with additional PA stacks will there be obstructed views, and in this case the Well Fargo Center staff usually will “kill seats", meaning pull them from sale to the public.
The Wells Fargo Centers promoting team, lead by Rick Bartalini, secure some of the leading touring acts in the country, including international acts, from comedy with Ellen Degeneres, Bill Cosby and the late George Carlin, to touring superstars including Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett and more. From loud rock shows to Symphony Orchestra’s, Well Fargo Center for the Arts can do it all, and do it well.
Few tips for the WFCA.
Get there early, plenty of parking spaces but the entrances and exit roads can get jammed. Also some shows have a strict time policy, meaning if you miss the start you may have to wait till intermission. If you have time, check out the sculptures or art works scattered around the 15 acre property.
Eat before you go. The Wells Fargo Center for the Arts' concessions is limited to say the least, maybe a cold beer for 5 bucks but don’t go expecting to get a feed before the show.
Don’t take cameras. Generally speaking the WFCA does not allow any recording of any kind. Staff and security will only ask you once. (Majority of the time this is policy of the Artist performing)
Don’t expect to Dance. At most shows, staff will try to enforce an “No Standing Policy”, or at the best you may get to boogie where your allocated seat is.
I believe this is one of the greatest comedy rooms in the country, and with major television specials being recorded, as well as numerous albums having been cut. The Well Fargo Center seem to be securing these more frequently, which is a testimony to the professional staff.
Great venue, great people, great seats and great sound. I love this venue, no wonder many of the worlds best performers call the center to see when they can get a date.
